I had the pleasure of attending the first ever meeting of the Business Advisory Council supporting the Leduc-Nisku Economic Development Association, this morning.
The session was very well organized, from the opening presentation and grounding provided by the talented Barbara McKenzie, Executive Director of the EDA, to the great contributions and engagement of the business leaders and entrepreneurs in attendance.
Significant ideas and contributions were generated and the EDA Board of Directors will certainly receive some strong encouragement on initiatives that will contribute greatly to the economic base of the region. Attendants were from a wide array of business sectors and some great stories were shared of trials and tribulations experienced in building business diversity and growth in our trying economic times.
It was agreed upon to meet quarterly but there will certainly be more opportunities for Council members to advocate and drive awareness of the opportunities for business development in the region.
If anyone wants more information on how the EDA can support and assist the economic growth of their existing or newly-budding business or to inquire more on the Business Advisory Council, feel free to email us at email@example.com and we will be sure to connect you to the right people. Alternatively, visit the EDA website at www.internationalregion.com.
We are excited for the great opportunities this group will help to create for local business!
